A recent research has it that drinking about five cups of green tea a day would burn an extra 70 to 80 calories, how interesting does that sound? The reason is simple; green tea produces an effect known as thermogenesis – the production of heat in organisms – which helps you to burn fat. You could lose up to 1 pound taking the required five cups over a period of 43 days, and over a period of a year, 8 pounds. I don’t know about you, but this sounds perfect.

2. Calcium

Though not one of the fat burning diets, but diets that are rich in calcium supplements has been found to ensure the success of any weight loss program. According to a recent study published, people with calcium deficiency were ordered to take about 1200mg of calcium daily for a period of 15 weeks, after which they had lost up to 6 kg. Well, when the brain detects lack of calcium in the body, it compensate for this by increasing your appetite, this is not good for any weight loss program.

A note of caution though, this only works for people whose diets are calcium deficient. Sources of calcium include milk, broccoli, spinach, oranges, yogurt and cheese.

3. Beans

Not only is beans low in calorie, it also causes calorie deficit, meaning, it takes more energy to digest than most foods making it one of the best fast burning diets you can see around. It is extremely low in fat and at the same time an excellent source of dietary fibre which helps you to control food cravings and blood sugar. It makes you feel full and satisfied faster and also as a way of making you to lose weight, eliminate constipation. It is a very good source of protein, it is required that you replace meat with beans because it is free from cholesterol which helps your cardiovascular health. With all the benefits of beans, people are usually scared this fat burning diet because of its flatulence effect. To eliminate this, it is required that you soak it overnight, not only will this reduce this effect, it also remove a substance called phytic acid found in beans that lowers the absorption of vitamins and minerals in the body.

4. Olive Oil

Put it like this, you need fat to burn fat, or better still, you need the right fat to burn fat. Olive oil is one of the best fat burning diets to lose weight.

It is one of the mono saturated fatty acids (MUFAs) that are good for your heart and your well being because they reduce cholesterol level in your system and also helps you reduce blood fats called triglycerides. You can use it to replace the normal cooking oil and to enjoy the rich taste of it, I will recommend to go for the virgin olive oil, as this raises the flavour of your menu.

5. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is actually rich in fibre which helps to decrease your appetite and at the same time keeping energy levels high. Because of its high fibre content, you feel less amused to overeat or indulge in junk foods. It is one of the fat burning diets that suppress your hunger pangs thereby limiting the calorie and food intake. This makes the body to use its stored fat cells in order to generate energy. Oatmeal can be enjoyed simply as a breakfast and you start enjoying its fat burning benefits.
