Personal Trainer Tries Out Fat Burning Furnace

Article by Alex Work

As a personal trainer based out of beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia (home of the 2010 Winter Olympics) I hear about fad fitness programs and diet plans on a daily basis. I get asked about them all the time from clients and fellow trainers, and from time to time I like to take a look at some of these programs and decide if they have any merit at all, or if they are all hype.

Fat Burning Furnace was brought to my attention by a client who had recently purchased it and wondered if I had heard anything about it. I had, but hadn’t checked it out for myself.

Who Created the Fat Burning Furnace?

The creator of this program is Rob Poulos and his wife Kale. They are a US based couple who both struggled with being overweight (like yours truly) for years. His struggles with weight loss were a motivating factor for him to create this program, and after losing over forty pounds he decided to take the principles he and his wife used to lose weight and with them create what is now known as the Fat Burning Furnace.

How Does Fat Burning Furnace Work?

fat burning furnace reviewAt the core of Fat Burning Furnace is a philosophy that avoids crash dieting, insane workouts, and calorie cutting in favor of focusing mainly on increasing your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). Increasing your metabolic rate means you are burning more calories. Which means that even when you are not working out-for instance, when you are sleeping- you are still burning hundreds of calories simply by having an elevated RMR.

(If you have never heard the term RMR before, don’t panic. It is something that has been researched in peer-reviewed data and been proven over and over again. It’s legit.)

The Fat Burning Furnace Workout Program

The workout program focuses mainly on 25-30 minute sessions of resistance training. For all of you people out there that hate doing cardio I am sure you will appreciate this. The workout program comes with detailed photographs (and video for a slightly upgraded price) and is certainly newbie-friendly. For those of you that hate going to the gym to workout the exercises can all be done at home with a minimum amount of equipment.

The Fat Burning Furnace Diet Plan

This is where Fat Burning Furnace really packs a punch.

Almost every diet plan on the market will tell you to eat X amount of carbs, protein or fat. In fact, unlike a vast majority of diets out there, this program does not favor a high protein diet. Rob focuses on the vitamins and minerals that our body absorbs to perform at top flight, but which also help to burn fat at a steady rate.

Instead of counting calories, Poulos stresses a need to simply choose the foods that are stuffed with these fat-burning nutrients. He makes a good point that people are more likely to stick with a diet plan when they are given some latitude with what they can eat, and Poulos provides a large number of food choices as well as several meal plans.

What I Like About The Fat Burning Furnace:

–The workouts are highly accessible. Packaged are also guides specifically made for seniors and complete beginners.

–Comes with a calculator to measure your specific metabolic rate. Big plus.

–You also get a tool to measure your body fat percentage.

–In my experience, tracking my workouts has dramatically increased my success with my fitness goals. Fat Burning Furnace comes with a training log to help keep you motivated.

–The dietary plan is unique and based on solid science.

–A generous number of meal plans and food choices are included.

–The program can be done at home, or the gym. Whatever you are most comfortable with.

–Digital download. Which means you can literally get started seconds after ordering. You can also pay a little extra and have a physical copy of the program mailed to you.

–Support was quick and knowledgable when I had a couple questions about the program.

–The program is backed by a 60-day money back guarantee. Not happy with the results you are seeing?Simply return it for a full refund no questions asked.

–What I Didn’t Like About the Fat Burning Furnace:

–Anyone who knows me knows that I love cardio. While I understand the need to avoid cardio in a diet plan (the idea of long bouts of cardio isn’t for everyone) from a marketing perspective, it would be nice to see more fitness plans on the market advocate its benefits.

–The exercises should have been detailed in video. It is 2011 after all.

Fat Burning Furnace Deluxe is .97 (this is the one I got), while the Blow Torch Package is . The only difference is in the Blow Torch package there is video of the exercises you do in the workout program. My Overall Verdict : A-

I really like this program. The diet program is very sound, and I feel like just about anyone could get very good results with this. It gives people the flexibility of choosing between the right foods, and there are meal plans for those of us that find too much choice to be paralyzing.

The only thing I had mixed feelings about was the video option. The videos should have been included with the original package, but for anyone that has walked into a gym even once the photos should be guidance enough in doing the workout program. However, if you have never set foot in a gym before, I would recommend the Blow Torch program.
